Welcome to Monkey Puzzle Walton On Thames
We take pride to be part of the vibrant town of Walton-on-Thames that sits beside the River Thames with a historic town centre of Celtic origin in the Elmbridge borough of Surrey.
We are part of an award-winning nursery group, offering high quality childcare in our specially equipped nursery for children aged three months to five years old.
Adding to this, we tailor our care to suit your child’s age. We achieve this by placing children into the following age categories: babies aged three to twelve months, toddlers & tweenies aged twelve months to three years, and lastly preschool aged three to five years. Due to our rooms being equipped especially for these ages, we are able to provide that home-from-home feel.
As well as offering Forest School sessions in our local woodland, we also offer multi-sports, cooking, sing and sign and Yoga to ensure the children at our nursery have every opportunity to develop holistically. Our onsite chef produces a varied and delicious menu providing nutritious meals for the children and staff.
Alongside our inclusive practice and dedication to SEND we are also fully committed to the Local Offer which gives children and young people with special educational needs or disabilities and their families information about what support services the local authority think will be available in their local area. Every local authority is responsible for writing a Local Offer and making sure it is available for everyone to see.
We are open Monday-Friday 8.00am – 6.00pm, 51 weeks of the year (excluding bank holidays) for full or part-time sessions. We are also registered for the 15 hours and 30 hours childcare scheme for all eligible over 3’s.

Our outdoor environment in the garden offers a rich multi-sensory environment that is meaningful, stimulating and motivating for all young children. We have a secure car parking facility for parents and carers for comfortable and safe drops-off and pick-ups of their precious little people.
We have buggy parking facilities for our Babies. We encourage our Toddler and Preschool children to walk, scooter or cycle to the nursery to develop independence and coordination skills.

St Patrick’s Day 🍀
St. Patrick’s Day, celebrated every March 17th is packed with parades, good luck charms, and all things green. The event started as a religious holiday, but over time it’s become a celebration of Irish culture 🇮🇪
So how do we celebrate? Our children have been learning the history and all about St. Patrick’s day ☘️
We had a listen to some Irish music and watched a short video about Irish dancing. The children enjoyed giving the dances a go themselves ☘️🎵💃🏽
We have been busy creating with paint and shaving foam. Children mixed paint and shaving foam together which created a green marble pattern. They then took it in turns to print this pattern onto their clover which left the marble pattern on their clovers. The children were also given crayons and tissue paper which they used to decorate their clovers ☘️🎨👨🏽🎨
In our St. Patrick’s tray we had a clover made out of rice which the children enjoyed mixing and pouring with. We added pom-poms with bowls and tweezers. The children used the tweezers to collect as many pom-poms as they can to put into their bowls. They worked together to count how many pom-poms they had collected and feeling the textures🍚🔢☘️
We filled our water tray with a green potion mixed with golden coins. The children were given various utensils which they used to scoop out the coins. The children enjoyed collecting as many coins as they could and then counting how many they had collected. The children were also given tubes which they used to practice their pouring skills 🧪☘️🪙
