Welcome to Monkey Puzzle Walton On Thames
We take pride to be part of the vibrant town of Walton-on-Thames that sits beside the River Thames with a historic town centre of Celtic origin in the Elmbridge borough of Surrey.
We are part of an award-winning nursery group, offering high quality childcare in our specially equipped nursery for children aged three months to five years old.
Adding to this, we tailor our care to suit your child’s age. We achieve this by placing children into the following age categories: babies aged three to twelve months, toddlers & tweenies aged twelve months to three years, and lastly preschool aged three to five years. Due to our rooms being equipped especially for these ages, we are able to provide that home-from-home feel.
As well as offering Forest School sessions in our local woodland, we also offer multi-sports, cooking, sing and sign and Yoga to ensure the children at our nursery have every opportunity to develop holistically. Our onsite chef produces a varied and delicious menu providing nutritious meals for the children and staff.
Alongside our inclusive practice and dedication to SEND we are also fully committed to the Local Offer which gives children and young people with special educational needs or disabilities and their families information about what support services the local authority think will be available in their local area. Every local authority is responsible for writing a Local Offer and making sure it is available for everyone to see.
We are open Monday-Friday 8.00am – 6.00pm, 51 weeks of the year (excluding bank holidays) for full or part-time sessions. We are also registered for the 15 hours and 30 hours childcare scheme for all eligible over 3’s.

Our outdoor environment in the garden offers a rich multi-sensory environment that is meaningful, stimulating and motivating for all young children. We have a secure car parking facility for parents and carers for comfortable and safe drops-off and pick-ups of their precious little people.
We have buggy parking facilities for our Babies. We encourage our Toddler and Preschool children to walk, scooter or cycle to the nursery to develop independence and coordination skills.

Last week, our little graduates took their next step into the world! 🎉 Our pre-schoolers donned their caps and gowns, beaming with pride and excitement as they graduated. It was a day filled with laughter, joy, and a few happy tears as we celebrated their achievements and growth.

Our Pre schoolers have been busy exploring hair in our very own hair dressing salon. We explored different hair types, textures and styles. We spoke about what some of our favourite hair styles are and our personal choices. The children were provided with different hair textures and tools which they used to explore the hair including scissors, brushes, combs and hair bands 💈💇🏽♀️
We had a special circle time with Ms Annoo about what makes us different and unique including our hair types, skin colour and eye colours. The children had a go at drawing their own self portraits using mirrors to look at themselves beforehand. We spoke about why it is important to celebrate our differences and why this makes us unique. We involved parents to reinforce their children’s learning at home 🪞🪮
We enjoyed pretending to be hairdressers. The children took it in turns to style each others hair. Some children were able to share stories about their trips to the hair salon 💇🏽♀️ 💈
