Love Based Leadership

We take inspiration from the successful Scandinavian approach to leadership known as “Love Based Leadership”. Whereby leaders build trust with those around them by authentically being their loyal selves. Stories and truths are shared to show that they live in the real world. They too may have made mistakes and that these can be seen as a learning curve. Through sharing these successes and failures with their team it builds up Respect and Likeability often showing that if I can achieve something then so can you.

Within the Scandinavian way of living Equality is one of the key values. Meaning that no-one is more important than anyone else and that all stakeholders are part of decision-making processes. We want our staff to consider the nursery as their own and Nurture – Care – Engage – Inspire.

We believe that Kindness can also be given by looking after your team’s Wellbeing and Mindfulness. We plan to offer some time for daily meditation, organise a local walk after work or simply just encourage our staff to take a proper lunch break.

Little touches of human kindness can really make someone else’s day. We want them to feel Special.

We want to live the messages we give and our vision.

“Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision.”

Annoo Walia – Director and Manager

  • EYP – Early Years Practitioner Status
  • Forest School Leader
  • NVQ3 in Early Years and Childcare
  • Designated Safeguarding lead

My name is Annoo and I am the proud mother of a teenage son. I changed my career into early years 19 years ago after the birth of my son. From that moment child development has been a passion and has stayed with me ever since.

In my 16 year successful career in Senior Management and Consultant roles in Early Years Childcare; I have always been driven and committed to provide high quality childcare. I have played an active rol in Ofsted inspections and successfully achieved a number of ‘Outstanding’ and ‘Good’ grades for the nurseries. I am very passionate about providing outstanding care and learning opportunities to children in a safe and thriving environment, work closely with families, members of the team, local authorities, early years support teams and the local community. I am currently working towards making Walton-on-Thames a Hygge Accredited Nursery. I have taken my inspiration from the Danish concept of Hygge (successful Scandinavian approach). The Hygge approach aims in creating a greater focus on calmness, joy and simplicity into our environment to improve wellbeing and mindfulness of the children and team. We bring more nature, cosiness and simplicity into the environment and give it a more homely feel. At our nursery, we will look at children taking the lead in their learning and how we can effectively support this by setting up meaningful enhancements and provocations.

I am very pleased and overjoyed to join hands with award winning “Monkey Puzzle Day Nurseries” to begin a new chapter towards my dream of having my own nursery. I look forward to bringing my wealth of knowledge, family-oriented values, and experience to making this nursery a huge success and a significant addition to the local community.

Annoo’s Family life

My journey with my teenage son over the past 19 years has been a fun roller coaster ride full of adventure and achievements.

We have walked our journey beside each other with unconditional support, strength and pride. He’s grown from one little happy, energetic child to an articulate adult ready to make his own way in life and yet remains grounded and true to his roots.

Providing him a caring, safe, positive, active, stimulating and happy environment with freedom to make choices has turned him into a kind, resilient, patient and independent thinker. Soon, Aaryaman will be off to University to embrace the great future that lies ahead of him. I wish him adventure on his wonderful journey of discovery and freedom to achieve his dreams. And may he always stop to help someone along the way, stay humble, listen to his heart and take risks carefully.

All of our nursery staff are either NNEB (National Nursery Examination Board) or equivalent, or participating in the National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) in Early Years and Childcare.

We have a very high qualified staff ratio which far exceeds that of OFSTED requirements. All of our staff are trained in First Aid.
