Food and nutrition are important to us and we know that a healthy balanced diet is essential to your child’s growth and development. Every day is an opportunity for us to satisfy your child’s appetite with delicious and nutritious meals and snacks, designed with their needs in mind, with a menu planned to broaden their food experiences.

Mealtimes are a very important part of our day, when children and adults come together to eat. The tables are laid beautifully, and music is played to create a calm atmosphere conducive to eating and interacting politely with each other, as a family around the table.

We are very proud of our cooking, offering your child healthy, nutritious, tasty meals and snacks. We know how important it is to provide growing children with healthy, nutritionally balanced meals using a selection of fresh ingredients. Our meal plans include a variety of meals – breakfast, lunch, tea and snacks, which are reviewed frequently. They are carefully planned in consultation with professional nutritionists and offer children opportunities to experience different foods and develop healthy eating patterns. The menu for the day is displayed for parents to see.

If you have any special requirements or wish to discuss your child’s eating habits with us, our management and chef will be happy to chat with you. We know how important it is to listen to parents to gain a better understanding about each child’s needs.

Our due diligence ensures that there is no use of salt and sugar in our meals which is in line with the current guidelines set for children aged 1-4 years.

Due to the wide variety of formula milk available and the different preferences parents have for their babies, we ask that you provide your own milk. Naturally, we will welcome breast milk. These bottles will be clearly labelled with your child’s name on and placed in our fridge. Alternatively, you can supply formula, which will be stored in our room kitchen. We have a bottle prep machine and will feed your child according to his/her own needs as identified in their care plan. These bottles will be washed, but not sterilised and placed in your child’s bag for collection at the end of each day.

Once your baby is ready for weaning, we will invite you to come and discuss your requirements with our management and cook, offering you healthy, freshly cooked food to be pureed.

Babies’ nutrition

At this age nutrition for your child and support for you go hand in hand as we work together to find your child’s feeding rhythm throughout their daytime with us and their night time and earlier mornings with you. We support both breastfeeding and formula feed with bottle feeds at nursery, delivered with comfort and care for their feeding and winding habits. When your babies are ready to experience solid food we will complement your efforts at home, working in partnership with you as your child experiences new tastes and textures.

Tweenies’ nutrition

Your tweenie’s food experiences are so important. In these early years, they really develop and secure many of their preferences likes. At this age, we look to balance your child’s new experiences of flavours and textures with a mix of the foods they already enjoy. We accompany their exploring with praise for them as they continue their food adventures, and give them lots of time as they enjoy new experiences.

We want to help to create good food habits for the children with us. This includes supporting mealtimes with learning about the foods they are eating and how they build their bodies and help them to play.

Toddlers’ nutrition

Your toddler’s food experiences are so important and at this age group, they really develop and secure many of their preferences. At this age we balance the opportunity to try new foods with the regularity and reliability of foods they already know and love, continuing to praise them for their food adventures, and giving them an abundance of time to enjoy these.

We delight in helping to create good habits, supporting mealtimes with learning and understanding about how foods help them and their bodies, helping them to make great food choices for life.

Preschoolers’ nutrition

Fuelling some of the most energetic beings on the planet is fun, and we love the challenge! A healthy balanced diet is essential to your child’s growth and development and at this stage, making sure they have the nutrition to match their desire to master the world.

Your preschooler will continue to learn and understand how foods help them and their bodies, helping them to make great food choices for life. At this age, your child will be a master of self-service with them creating their own portions, so they can display their appetite and tell us about their choice, with our guidance of course!
