Monkey Puzzle Walton on Thames’ most recent Ofsted report was published in April 2026, confirming that safeguarding standards were fully met and children’s safety and wellbeing remain a top priority. The nursery achieved Strong Standard across five key areas of inspection, alongside a Expected Standard in one area, reflecting the high-quality care, learning and support provided by the team.

Wellbeing and Involvement
We prioritise the wellbeing of children and staff, creating a supportive, nurturing atmosphere. A balance of adult-led and child-initiated play builds independence and confidence. Through careful observation and regular parent communication, we ensure every child’s journey is respected, celebrated, and fully supported.
A Warm and Welcoming Environment
Our purpose-built nursery feels like a home away from home. Four base rooms cater to each stage—from sensory-rich ‘Snuggle Pots’ for babies to the social, imaginative ‘Adventurers’ for preschoolers. All rooms are bright, engaging, and designed for children, with accessible toilets, play zones, and outdoor areas. It’s a space where every child feels safe, inspired, and ready to learn.
Early Years Learning
At Monkey Puzzle Walton on Thames, children connect with the real world through regular outings to places like parks, post offices, and the theatre, enriching their everyday learning. Inside, activities such as Forest School, yoga, cooking, and multi-sports nurture creativity, confidence, and development. Nutritious meals from our onsite chef fuel each day of discovery and growth.
Soft Play
Daily indoor movement and physical development encouraging confidence and social play. Our dedicated Soft Playroom gives children daily opportunities to build confidence, coordination, physical strength and confidence in a safe, exciting, structured environment. Soft play also supports social interaction, teamwork, and overall wellbeing. Designed for all age groups, this space supports development through movement, exploration, and fun; all included as part of our all-inclusive offering.
STEAM & Creative Play
We bring learning to life through STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) and creative play. Children are encouraged to explore, question, build, and create through hands-on experiences such as experiments, construction challenges, art projects, and imaginative play. This approach supports critical thinking, creativity, and a love of discovery from an early age.
Community & Local Trips
We believe learning extends beyond the nursery walls. Our regular trips into the local community help children understand the world around them and build confidence in real-life environments. From visits to parks and libraries to exploring local shops and community spaces, these experiences promote independence, social skills, and a sense of belonging.
Forest School & Outdoor Learning
Our forest school and outdoor learning experiences encourage children to explore, take safe risks, and develop a strong connection with nature. Through regular sessions in natural environments, children build resilience, problem-solving skills, and confidence. Whether it’s bug hunting, den building, or seasonal exploration, outdoor learning supports both physical development and emotional wellbeing. 🚗🧽 Car Wash Day at Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery , Walton on Thames. 🧽🚗
What looked like a fun car wash activity was actually a wonderful opportunity for our little learners to develop important life skills through play.
As the children worked together to wash the car, they explored water play, strengthened their fine and gross motor skills, practised turn-taking, built confidence, and developed their communication and teamwork skills. From filling buckets and squeezing sponges to solving problems and celebrating their achievements, every moment was filled with meaningful learning.
At Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery, we believe that children learn best when they are actively engaged, curious, and having fun. 🌟
Watching their excitement and sense of accomplishment as they transformed a dirty car into a sparkling clean one was truly priceless! 💛
